LCS Power Rankings: 2022 Summer Split Week 8

Robert HanesBy Robert HanesAugust 11, 2022Updated:August 29, 20225 Mins Read

The LCS 2022 season started with EG surprising everyone and rising to the top much earlier than anticipated. Now, everyone is playing catchup. The end of the season is coming up quickly the top six teams look locked in, but where that group will finish is up for debate. With that here are the LCS 2022 Summer Split Week 7 Power Rankings.

10. DIG (3-12)

(Last Week: 10)

Hey that is another win for DIG and their first since changing rosters. Good for them. Even still they aren’t consistently better than anyone else and will not be favored in any of their remaining matchups.

9. GGS (4-11)

(Last Week: 8)

The decision for Golden Guardians to put in Lider just to have these results is very confusing. Maybe they felt he would fit better with River but this late into the season, it is an odd move. It would have been better had the Guardians actually played well. It was a bad weekend and now GGS are on the outside looking in for playoffs.

8. IMT (4-11)

(Last Week: 9)

A nice win for Immortals helps to put them into a position to make playoffs heading into the final weekend of the LCS regular season. They still have a hill to climb facing off against C9, FLY and CLG in Week 8 but they still have a pretty good chance for at least a tiebreaker. If nothing else, watching Kenvi grow and improve is all the win IMT should be hoping for.

7. TSM (5-10)

(Last Week: 7)

Outside of everyone below them having an incredible week, TSM have put themselves into a prime position to make playoffs. With FLY struggling as well they even have an outside shot of making top six. It would require at least two wins, one being against FlyQuest and them going 0-3. But, there is a chance.

6. FLY (7-8)

(Last Week: 5)

A four-game losing streak certainly was not what FlyQuest fans were hoping for. This team looked like they were in prime position to make a nice run. Now they have shown that they are no more than a middle-tier team with losses to Cloud9, Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid and CLG. Toucouille is doing everything he can but the team is still just a bit behind the top-level teams in the LCS.

5. C9 (8-7)

(Last Week: 2)

Another team with a disappointing week against their direct competition. Everyone has been waiting for Cloud9 to really find themselves and push for a top spot. Instead, they dropped games to CLG and 100 Thieves and are now out of position to vie for a top-two spot. This team still has talent but they have to learn when to take fights with better odds.

4. CLG (10-5)

(Last Week: 4)

CLG are stuck here for now. They had a great weekend and took out the two teams directly below them. With games against TSM and IMT, they have a good shot at pushing their way up the standings. If CLG can 3-0 this weekend and take down 100T they will have a shot not only at a bye, but a good chance at making their way to Worlds.

3. TL (10-5)

(Last Week: 6)

Finally. Team Liquid have finally made the necessary changes to look like not only a good team, but a great team. Sure their game against FlyQuest was pretty boring but their win over Evil Geniuses was anything but. Bwipo was apparently the answer and sadly that means that Hans Sama will be relegated to weak side duty for the rest of the split. This very of TL may be a bit more volatile, but they will win more games they shouldn’t and be a lot more fun to watch.

2. EG (12-3)

(Last Week: 3)

Evil Geniuses are also finally answering some questions that many had about them. They are facing true adversity for the first time this season. That said, it is only against the best teams in the LCS as their losses are to CLG, 100 Thieves and Team Liquid. Not only does that mean that their losses aren’t flukes but they are better for them to learn from. This team is still arguably the best team but EG aren’t on fire and the team above them are.

1. 100T (12-3)

(Last Week: 1)

A seven-game winning streak and masterful performances from Abbedagge have 100 Thieves looking the best they have since winning their title a year ago. This squad is absolutely on fire and picking anyone to beat them would be a massive mistake. Their weekend is easily the hardest of the top teams in the LCS but would they have it any other way? They look to continue sharpening their blades as they roll into playoffs.
